WHAT IS A PUNCH NEEDLE?

A Punch needle is an easy to use tool that opens up a delightful world of dimensional needleart. It quickly and easily produces one-level or exciting three dimensional designs for many uses with One Simple Stitch (shown above). The technique of ironing a transfer pattern onto cotton/polyester fabric, then punching yarn, floss or ribbon into the  fabric to fill design areas with color is all it takes. Like coloring with a crayon!  Easier and faster than other needlework! From ages 6 to 106, man, woman or child, you can do it. It doesn't ask for  a 'perfect' technique - only that you punch enough stitches to fill the areas on your design. Its so easy to do and you have something nice without a lot of effort. Once you transform a piece of fabric into a dimensional design with your first try, you're hooked!

What is the difference between needle brands?

Punch Needles differ slightly in needle size - Russian punch needles are slightly smaller than Traditional punch needles. The final results remain the same. We have them all. All punch needles are adjustable for loop length. Depending on the needle selected, it has slide, dial or tube graduated needle lengths for precision, stitch length, speed and control. Each is simple to use.

Available in five (5) sizes...Extra small, Small, Medium, Large and Rug Needles. Sold individually or sold in set of 3 or 4 (depending on the brand)  the needle size determines what fiber to use...from single strand embroidery floss to 2-ply acrylic yarn, luster yarn, varigated yarn, metallics, ribbon, double strands of yarns or heavy rug yarns. From miniatures to rugs and everything in between, it's easy with the proper needle size.
